May 31, Tuesday-Ashlin's update

Today was a long day, thirteen hour car rides are not the way I like to spend my day. After about 30 minutes in the car we got out the third Percy Jakson book. By the time we got to Kingsmill, Williamsburg,VA (where my great grandmother lives), my mom had read half the book out loud.

My family and I play a state license plate game where we try to find as many different states as we can. Today we found 32 different states and two providences, Quebec and Ontario.

Once we FINALLY got to Nana's house we had chili and by that time it was 8:30 pm.

I'll post pictures tomorrow when we have a good internet connection and aren't so tired. We have another long drive tomorrow.

Good night!

Sunday, May 29th

Today was an exciting day. Dev caught a bull frog on his line and cast it out (he yelled, "Weeee," while casting it trying to make the bull frog act like the first ever flying bull frog). That joke was funny. I also helped Ethen sketch and taught him a new way to make bracelets.

Kaitlynn was in charge of the "boys" most of the weekend. She made sure they behaved.

Sunday was a day spent with friends and playing soccer.

It was Megan's Birthday. We had a party for her.

During the night, we played with a light up Frisbee and wore glow sticks as we ran around.

Saturday: Sarah's Post

I was up early this morning. The St. Lawrence River had a lot of fog on it. The view was beautiful. People were in their boats and along the banks fishing. The Red Winged Blackbirds were around our site most of the day. This one is female. The males have a much bolder and brighter red stripe on their wings.  Ashlin had one that was a "stalker bird."

May 28, Saturday: Cole's Creek

Saturday I spent the day with Devion. We walked around a lot and he told jokes... a lot of them not very funny.

Saturday was an early morning as Devion wanted to go fishing. We spent most of the day at the water. It threatened to rain most of the day, but we only had a few showers.

Friday, May 27th: Cole's Creek

Tonight was the first night of camping. I helped pack the car in the pouring rain. Mom said she was not going to take bikes since it might rain all weekend. Tonight Kaity and I babysat the boys: Ethen, Mason and Carson.

We packed the car in the rain and set the tent up in it as well. It poured most of the night. We were in Cole's Creek Park on the St. Lawrence River in Massena, NY.

Blog created

Friday 5-27-11

My blog is created and I'm ready to begin my voyage. Mom and I will be posting things about our trip throughout our travels. Tonight is the first night we are leaving. I may not be able to post again until Monday as we are camping and will not have access to a computer.

Mom will help post the pictures and comment on them, but I will also be posting comments during our trip. Leave me a message and I'll get back to you.
